2581B – Sack Attack

Like the Mars Rover, Team B's robot had a single arm and a claw that could pick up one sack at a time. It had a counterweight that could be extended backwards to keep the robot from tipping over.

The Robot

In an early photo of the robot, the line followers used to execute its world-famous autonomous program are easily visible. The robot used sonar sensors to determine distance on the field. The omnidirectional wheel on the base prevents the robot from tipping backwards when extending its arm upwards.
